So I felt like a bit of a philistine going to a museum about cars. Fortunately, it was the BMW museum, which means... Art Cars! For those that don't know, every couple of years BMW commissions a fairly serious artist (Calder, Warhol, Stella, etc) to use one of their cars as a canvas. The museum had several, including my alltime favorite: Jenny Holzer's 1999 V12 LMR Racecar titled "Protect me from what I want." Besides just looking seriously badass, the things writen on it are amazing: "Lack of charisma can be fatal," on the rear wing, "You are so complex you don't respond to danger," on one side, and by far
the best, "What urge will save us now that sex won't?"
stitched onto the headrest. This car actually raced at Le Mans. Insanity.
