Hawaii Day 2

Woke up, got on the bus, and headed to Diamond Head Park, which is a mile or so outside of Waikiki. It's a big crater that you walk into and then hike up; it's very pretty but was fairly choked with tourists. After that, we headed to Ono's for our first authentic Hawaiian meal: kalua pig, poi, some other stuff that I can't remember. It was pretty good, and having the poi was interesting: it's basically ground taro root that's pretty gross on its own, but yummy when you dip the rest of your food in it.

Next we went to the beach, which was noteworthy because there was the oldest, tannest man I've ever seen wearing the smallest bathing suit in the entire universe. In Italy, after a large meal, it's common to have what's known as a "digestivo", wherein you drink a nip of herbal liquor to help aid digestion. The old tan man in the thong was pretty much the opposite of a digestivo. It was disgusting.
