Should've gone to Bali.

21 degrees in Munich today.  I guess that means I'll make it a museum day.  Probably the BMW museum.

Yesterday I did my best to do my usual pedexploration (that's a word I just made up.  It means "explore on foot.") but it was really just too cold.  I saw some sites, but took no pictures because the idea of removing my hands from my pockets for that long was just unbearable.  I did, however, have a couple of great meals.

For lunch I went to Der Pschor, which is run by the Hacker Pschor brewery and looks vaguely like a Disney-fied version of a Munich beer hall.  I was skeptical, but then I saw they were proudly displaying the Snail of Approval out front and sure enough everything was delicious: salty Bread soup with hunks of liverwurst and a thick slice of roast pork shoulder with a dense, flavorful bread dumpling.  And beer, of course.

Dinner, at Andecheser Am Dom, was also very good, but weird.  None of the restaurants I've seen have bars really, which means I've had to do the awkward table-for-one thing, which I don't really like.  At this place though there were communal tables, which is cool when you have a big group, but not so much when you're by yourself.  What makes it even weirder is when you're seated at an already cramped two-top, and you spend your meal as an anonymous third wheel to a couple trying to enjoy a romantic dinner.  So that was the backdrop.  The place specializes in game though, so I did get to have some excellent venison with red cabbage and buttered spaetzle.  I apologized to Rolf and Rita (yes: I named them in my head) on the way out.
