The time of year when a new Spoon album comes out. I've been listening pretty much every time I have an internet connection.
It's good, because all Spoon albums are good, but there's something a bit missing this time, and I think it's euphoria. There's an excitement to all of their prior album: a blast of guitar, a shout, something with raw emotion. This is all too polished, squeaky clean. They come close with "I saw the light", but then it stops just short.
Also they use an Eggleston print for the cover, which really pisses Lauren off.
